Kai Reesu (Scotland, UK)

Blending elements of hip hop, neo-soul, psychedelic rock and old skool fusion, with a core rhythm section and a revolving door of other luminaries of the Scottish scene, Kai Reesu is a  nu-jazz & hip hop ensemble from Glasgow, Scotland. 

Kai Reesu bring strong instrumentals with lush textures, complex polyrhythms and impressionistic melodies, along with hard hitting grooves and rap-based tracks which span the course of Boom Bap, Conscious Hip Hop and Grime. 
This band is nothing if not adaptable - playing headline shows in commercial venues , late night party slots and long form jazz shows .

Recent ventures for Kai have seen an expansion of collaborative energy with rapper Jurnalist joining the ensemble  , all the way from Los Angeles - as well as tenor saxophone colossus Harry Weir . Their latest mixtape KOMPROMAT VOL. i - Memoirs will see the band focus on boom bap , neo-soul and grime , all with their signature bombastic love of complex time and macabre tinged jazz.
