Wends (Scotland, UK)

Genre-fluid vocalist Wends has been rising up the UK Sound System scene over the past few years, steadily growing hype and mashing up dances across the country. Combining reggae-inspired toasting and soulful singing, Wends has evolved her style while emceeing on Dub & Reggae, Hip hop, Reggaeton, 140, Grime, Garage, Drum & Bass, Jungle and more.

The past 2 years have been focused primarily on levelling up live performance, between clubs and festivals- both solo and hosting DJ's or joining acts like Conscious Route, Cenote Sound, Hometown Promotion Soundsystem on stage. Wends was the host of Glasgow club night 'Sound' for its first 6 months, and moved on to create her own 'Wends & Friends' club with guest sound systems and a gender-balanced lineup.

This year promises many more releases, as studio work continues with artists such as Supermann, Mungo's Hifi, Toni Smoke, Conscious Route and more.

Wends' biggest achievements to date have been hosting Sinai Soundsystem at French-festival 'Dub Camp', hosting Glasgow's biggest soundsystem Mungo's Hifi in Newcastle, and MC'ing for Edinburgh's Electrikal Soundsystem for crowds of 6000+ in Bristol and at Boomtown.

Having shared mic duties with high-calibre artists such as Killa P, YT, Horseman, Tippa Irie, Solo Banton & Charlie P, Wends has pushed from strength to strength and learned from some of the best MC's in the UK. This has led to Wends supporting and introducing Flowdan, Eva Lazarus and General Levy.
