Red King (UK)

RED KING is a Scottish rapper and producer whose introspective storytelling and electronic-leaning sound have carved out a distinct place in the UK’s underground music scene. Growing up between his mum’s home in Fife and his dad’s in Dundee, he was first drawn toward the music he’d one day create by overhearing his mum’s 90s dance compilations — early encounters with The Prodigy, The Chemical Brothers, and other electronic pioneers that would shape his sonic instincts.

He began rapping at 14, scribbling verses in school corridors, and later taught himself to produce in his twenties using FL Studio, developing a sound that merged sharp lyricism with punchy, electronic-inspired beats. Before moving to Glasgow, he cut his teeth in Dundee’s legendary Reading Rooms, performing, experimenting, and absorbing inspiration from the artists who passed through its doors.

Now based in Glasgow, RED KING studied Psychology at Glasgow Caledonian University, a discipline that flows directly into his music. By day, he works in community music, supporting people from disadvantaged backgrounds; by night, he channels those experiences into intricate, emotionally aware writing. His songs fuse inner reflection with high-energy production, creating a sound that’s both vulnerable and dancefloor ready. A voice shaped by lived experience, community, and a lifelong commitment to understanding the human mind through music.
