ZAMANI is a sonic storyteller—writing, producing, engineering, and performing every note she releases. Hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, she fuses R&B, Neo-Soul, and Jazz into a lush, modern sound rooted in self-love, identity, optimism, and unapologetic Black girl magic. A complete artist in the truest sense, Zamani commands every layer of her music, transforming personal narrative into richly textured soundscapes that resonate across cultures and continents.
Her musical passport spans the United States, Europe, the Caribbean, and Africa, where she has shared billing and stages with global icons and Grammy-winning artists including Estelle, Tarrus Riley, Earth, Wind & Fire, Mýa, Ginuwine, UB40, Jazzmeia Horn, and John Legend. Known for electrifying live performances and effortless vocal power, Zamani has captivated audiences at major international events including Toronto Soul Fest, the Boston Tree Lighting, Rotterdam’s New Skool Rules Festival, the JUNO Festival, and the 2025 Saint Lucia International Jazz & Arts Festival.
A genre-defying collaborator, Zamani moves fluidly across R&B, Pop, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and EDM. Her songwriting credits include collaborations with Grammy-winning Canadian hitmaker Gordie Sampson and Washington-based lyricist Tracey Lee, known for his work with Notorious B.I.G. At the same time, she remains fiercely independent—writing and producing a steady stream of original releases from 2019–2025 that showcase both her musical range and artistic vision.
Her work has earned significant recognition across the industry. Zamani is the recipient of the Stingray Rising Star Award, SOCAN’s Young Canadian Songwriter Award, the Atlantic International Film Festival Award for Best Musical Score, and Emerging Lens’ Best Music Video. She is a six-time African Nova Scotian Music Association (ANSMA) Award winner—including Artist, Songwriter, and Single of the Year—and a four-time East Coast Music Award (ECMA) winner, including African Canadian Artist and R&B Recording of the Year. In recognition of her artistic excellence and cultural impact, she was also awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal.
