Pay Kolmüs (Music Journalist)
Pay Kolmüs has been active as a music industry professional for 25+ years and has built up a large international network in the music industry. As a journalist, she has interviewed many artists and industry moguls, such as Public Enemy, Ice Cube, Nas, Black Thought (The Roots), Raekwon (Wu-Tang Clan), DJ Premier, Vince Staples, Shanti Das (Silence The Shame), Nicki Farag (Def Jam) and Rob Stone (The Fader).
Her journalistic experience has led to a role as moderator for various international (music) festivals and conferences such as Amsterdam Dance Event and to a position as a member of the Supervisory Board at the Melkweg and board member of the Auteursbond (author’s union).
She combines her years of experience in the industry with her marketing background, and as an artist consultant and manager she helps various artists and other creative talents with strategically branding their name and work. As a manager, she was able to sign her artists to different international labels (USA, Japan). She has also written her own Music Business curriculum, which she applies in
the form of master classes as a business mentor for various music institutes and academies, both nationally and internationally. Next to that, she is a mentor and coach for several music mentorship initiatives.
